We Take No Blame For SKD Tragedy -Williams.
The Liberia Football Association (LFA) Wednesday said it never admitted being responsible for the over crowdedness of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex that led to at least ten deaths during the Liberia versus Gambia match on Sunday as was reported in two local dailies.
“I did not talk to any journalists after the game and was surprised the next morning to see what was written in the papers,” LFA Secretary General George Williams stated.
The incident took place at gate #16 and we are still investigating to avoid a repetition, Williams said.
He noted that the incident has been reported to FIFA and that the FA has not receive any response from them.
Meanwhile, Williams has revealed that seats at the SKD are being numbered to ensure that only the required number of spectators enter the stadium.
