Dixon, Williams will be in Germany

by Simon Reeves

Liberia 's Sweden-based professional Jimmy Dixon has confirmed that he will join the Lone Star at the training camp in Germany

The Malmo FF defender said on Saturday that he will arrive in Germany this Friday and stay for two days. Dixon reached the decision after a conversation with Coach Antoine Hey and after receiving a fax from Liberia .

“Our schedule here is very tight but I am committed to the Lone Star so I will be in Germany to train with the team,” he said.

Dixon also told me that striker Dioh William of Danish side Arhus will make the trip. “Dioh and I have arranged to travel there on Friday”, he added.

There's been no confirmation from AIK midfielder Dulee Johnson (also playing in Sweden ). When I last spoke to him (on Thursday) he said no official communication has reached him from Monrovia

Dixon noted that he would have loved to spend a lot more time with the team but his schedule with Malmo won't permit.

“Although the Swedish national league will be on break from Monday (May 12) we have some games in the Swedish Cup and will still be practicing. That's why I will travel on Friday because will be playing a match on Thursday.

The defender added that he had a fruitful discussion with Hey and is impressed with the level of commitment that the coach exudes.

But Dixon threw a swipe at the administrators when he noted that they do not know how he and the others will get to Germany .

“They don't know how we will get there. Whenever we pay our transportation to go on Lone Star assignment, let's say, to Monrovia and other places, they don't want to pay us back,” he added.
